A blower resistor is a resistor used to control the speed of an automotive blower fan. Change the fan speed by mechanically switching the blower resistor resistance, using a rotary lever, or electronically through the air conditioning system. The change in resistance then limits the current through the motor, which determines how fast the blower will work. The blower resistor is a mechanical component that is prone to wear and is the most common point of failure in automotive heating systems.

After the blower resistor is broken, the air volume control knob loses its speed regulating function.

The blower resistance mainly controls the speed of the blower. If the resistance of the blower is broken, the speed of the blower is the same in different gears.

The resistance of the vehicle blower is damaged. The most obvious manifestation is that the blower's 4th block cool wind, while 1, 2, and 3 block the wind. This is because the blower mainly completes the conversion of the speed ratio by adding resistors with different resistance values in the 1, 2, and 3 routes. If the blower resistor is damaged, the resistor will lose its function, and of course it will not be able to control 1, 2, and 3. The first gear is windy, and the fourth gear is a direct gear, so it can be used normally.

If the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears of the blower do not turn, but the 4th gear can be used normally, then it can be solved by simply replacing the resistance of the blower. You can go to a car 4S shop or a professional after-sales repair shop for replacement, and the replacement price is not expensive. Generally, it can be solved for tens of dollars, and the replacement efficiency will be fast and relatively simple.

Pay more attention to the maintenance of the blower at ordinary times to avoid damage to the resistor due to excessive pressure during operation. The blower assembly can be removed in time, the wind blades can be cleaned, and if the blades are damaged, they can be replaced. Appropriately lubricate the motor bearing with unsalted butter, and check whether there are any damage and virtual connections in each line.

In addition, some riders will buy blower resistors online to replace them in order to save money. I personally do not recommend riders to do so. Because the replacement of the blower resistor involves the car circuit, and the blower resistor also needs to choose a compatible model, it may be unreasonable for novice car owners, which will damage the vehicle. Of course, if the rider has a certain self-learning ability and certain knowledge of circuits, he can also replace it by himself
